My Angram beer engine, ready to rock!

I've been waiting for a missing drip tray and some beer line to arrive. It came today so I've set the beer engine up on the dining room table and hooked it up to a bowl of water. Pulls like a treat, nice pump and I'm chuffed to bits with it. Here are some better pics.

First beer planned is still fermenting but soooooon it will be mine :)

Graham Wheeler's Brew Your Own British Real Ale.
Nicely written book that focuses on all grain brewing although extract brewing is covered. A tantalizing selection of over 100 of Britain's most popular real ales. I can't put it down, it's a definite must buy for the home brewer.

Designing Great Beers: The Ultimate Guide to Brewing Classic Beer Styles.
I've already found the information in this great book invaluable. The section on calculating and monitoring gravities to hit target gravity every time is superb.

I'm still reading through this but so far it's given me some really great tips on culturing yeast and looking after these vital and often overlooked blighters.

Hi, I'm Steve a UK expat living with my wife, Sarah and our German Shepherd, Holly (nicknamed The Wuppit) in the Limousin region of France.

I began brewing around 15 years ago using kits and after a few years away from the hobby I have once again returned to wanting to brew my own, high quality real ales.

This time around I am starting out into the world of all grain, full mash brewing. A world of bizarre sounding equipment like, "mash tuns" and, "spargers" all of which I am going to try and make myself.

We're very fortunate that the house we bought here has a large barn with a mezzanine floor, two cellars - one of which is a vaulted, granite cellar - and a large garden so there's plenty of room to set up a micro brewery.

My penultimate goal is to be able to consistently brew a reasonable selection of English style real ales to share with our French friends and acquaintances as well as other expats in the surrounding area.

My ultimate goal is to gain the brewing experience and confidence in my beers to register with the Douane (Customs) in order to begin operating the micro brewery as a small business.
